  • Implemented integrated pest management practices
    Adopted Resolution No. 2103, the Alameda County New Home Construction Green Building Guidelines as a City reference document which summarize ways that sustainable design elements can be incorporated into remodel or new construction projects and provides a self-tracking green points system to indicate the number and type of green elements that are utilized. The resolution further encourages larger residential new construction and mixed-use projects to apply for LEED Green Building Rating System certification
  • Recommended in January 2012 that replacement of the current HVAC unit in City Hall chambers for a energy efficient unit
  • Annual “Hills are Alive” run sponsored by the Rolling Hills Estates Pepper Tree Foundation, a nonprofit group that will use its donations to protect, develop and maintain the city’s trails, parks and open space
  • Annual Tracy Austin Doubles Tennis Tournament sponsored by the Rolling Hills Estates Pepper Tree Foundation, a nonprofit group that will use its donations to protect, develop and maintain the city’s trails, parks and open space
  • Participating in the South Bay Cities Council of Governments which is a joint powers authority of 16 cities and the County of Los Angeles all sharing the goal of maximizing the quality of life and productivity of the area
